This course covers security door control systems and how to design for the balance of protecting against active assailants while still meeting code requirements for emergency egress. Participants will learn how lockdown door control systems can help to ensure that threats and aggressors are deterred from entering the space. Use of these systems is common in K-12 and higher education school buildings as well as healthcare facilities. Included in this discussion will be perimeter security, internal door controls, hardwired door hardware and wireless access control door locks. He has authored many published technical papers on physical security and consulted with the top healthcare facilities in the country.
