NFPA 25 Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems, NICET Test Preparation - 2-Day 16hr Course – Ellensburg, WA - April 10-11, 2018 Course Details Instructor CEUs/Additional Info Format: Live Classroom Training Date: April 10-11, 2018 (8:00am-5:00pm) Location: Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue, 400 E Mountain View Ave, WA 98926 Registration: Must register through Washington State Fire Marshal's Office Course Description: This 16 hour course is focused on preparing for the successful completion of the NICET examination requirements for NICET certification through Level II for the inspection and testing of water-based suppression systems. This seminar is focused on the understanding and use of NFPA 25. NPFA 25 is the only document allowed to be referenced while taking the examinations. In addition, basic inspector procedures and safety requirements are reviewed. The seminar utilizes timed practice quizzes totaling 200 questions to give hands-on experience in using NFPA 25 under exam-like conditions. Note: This course requires that students have the 2014 edition of NFPA 25 (not included). Tracey Bellamy, P.E., CFPS Tracey Bellamy has more than 25 years experience in the fire protection community including all areas of the fire sprinkler industry. He has extensive experience with fire suppression system design, fire hazard analysis and fire protection system inspection and testing. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in 49 U.S. states, District of Columbia and Guam and a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS). He serves on several NFPA technical and correlating committees including NFPA 13, 15, 16, 25, 30, 30B, 101 and 5000 (building code). Tracey is a member of ASCE, NFPA, and SFPE. Continuing Education (see details under Certificate section below) - NICET Continuing Professional Development Certificate of Completion: Each participant registered, completing the sign-in sheet and attending the full training session will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate will include the participants name, training subject, date, number of training hours completed and the Fire Smarts name, address and phone number. Certificates can be used as supporting documentation for CPD points required for NICET certification. This applies to the “Additional Education” section of NICET Policy #30 on Continuing Professional Development that allows for CPD points for education to advance, broaden and enhance technical knowledge and job skills. Live Classroom Training This course is presented in a directing and discussion style of teaching. A clear and detailed presentation of the content is given with the aid of PowerPoint presentation slides. Group discussion is encouraged to facilitate understanding and practical application exercises will be given where applicable to the content. A review test is given to measure learning and retention.
