NFPA 25 Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems, NICET Test Preparation - 2-Day 16hr Course – Olympia, WA - January 15-16, 2019 Course Details Instructor CEUs/Additional Info Format: Live Classroom Training Date: January 15-16, 2019 (8:00am-5:00pm) Location: Black Lake Fire Station # 95, 5911 Black Lake Blvd SW, Olympia, WA 98512 Registration: Must register through Washington State Fire Marshal's Office Course Description: This 16 hour course is focused on preparing for the successful completion of the NICET examination requirements for NICET certification through Level II for the inspection and testing of water-based suppression systems. This seminar is focused on the understanding and use of NFPA 25. NPFA 25 is the only document allowed to be referenced while taking the examinations. In addition, basic inspector procedures and safety requirements are reviewed. The seminar utilizes timed practice quizzes totaling 200 questions to give hands-on experience in using NFPA 25 under exam-like conditions. Note: This course requires that students have the 2014 edition of NFPA 25 (not included). Ralph Bless, P.E., SET, CFPS Ralph Bless has more than 30 years experience in fire protection including a broad range of water based and special hazard system design, code consulting and fire protection engineering services. He has provided services to government, hospitality, warehouse/distribution center, retail, convenience, multi-unit development, multifamily housing, industrial, restaurant, and medical accounts. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in six states, is a Level IV NICET senior fire sprinkler layout technician and holds several state and national certifications including that of Certified Fire Protection Specialist. Ralph chairs the NFPA technical committee for Record Storage, NFPA 232, and serves as a primary member of the NFPA technical committees for Water Spray Systems, NFPA 15 as well as an alternate member of the NFPA 13 Correlating Committee. Continuing Education (see details under Certificate section below) - NICET Continuing Professional Development Certificate of Completion: Each participant registered, completing the sign-in sheet and attending the full training session will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate will include the participants name, training subject, date, number of training hours completed and the Fire Smarts name, address and phone number. Certificates can be used as supporting documentation for CPD points required for NICET certification. This applies to the “Additional Education” section of NICET Policy #30 on Continuing Professional Development that allows for CPD points for education to advance, broaden and enhance technical knowledge and job skills. Live Classroom Training This course is presented in a directing and discussion style of teaching. A clear and detailed presentation of the content is given with the aid of PowerPoint presentation slides. Group discussion is encouraged to facilitate understanding and practical application exercises will be given where applicable to the content. A review test is given to measure learning and retention.
