This presentation provides an overview of CO detection requirements based on 'NFPA 720 Standard for the Installation of Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detection and Warning Equipment'. Common requirements for new and existing commercial structures will be covered as well as a discussion on the initial acceptance testing requirements contained in the standards. Participants will learn how the building code, NFPA 72 and NFPA 720 requirements impact CO detection systems and the growing adoption and enforcement of these requirements.

Learning Objectives:
• Understand the scope and purpose of NFPA 720
• Explain the format of NFPA 72 and the chapter layout
• Describe the inspection and testing requirements for CO detection systems
• Learn how to properly record and document all inspections, tests, and maintenance of CO detection systems
