Fire Detection Technology Advancements - Recorded Webinar Course Details Instructor CEUs/Additional Info Format: Instant Access Recorded Webinar CEUs: Based on 1.5 contact hour of training (see CEUs tab for details) Course Description: Fire detection has played a key role in saving lives and protecting property by alerting building occupants of a fire early enough to allow for safe evacuation and providing notification to the fire department for a quicker response. As fire hazards increase and technology advances, there has been significant investment in finding ways to detect fire faster and with higher rates of accuracy, while reducing the chances of false alarms. This course will discuss the different sensing technologies that are being applied to fire detection to advance from the traditional spot type smoke and heat detectors. This includes benefits and considerations of these new technologies impacting speed of fire detection, cost of installation and maintenance, specific site applications, and other possible data obtained when a fire is detected. Learning Objectives: • Learn about advanced technologies available for fire detection • Understand the benefits and limitations of these newer detection methods • Describe cost and service considerations when using advanced fire detection technologies Ray Dotts, SET, PSP Ray Dotts has more than 40 years experience including fire alarm design and installation experience and works for Telgian Engineering & Consulting.
