Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) Fire Sprinklers - Recorded Webinar Course Details Instructor CEUs/Additional Info Format: Instant Access Recorded Webinar CEUs: Based on 1 contact hour of training (see CEUs tab for details) Course Description: Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) fire sprinklers are commonly used in warehouse facilities with stored goods and highly combustible plastics where quickly applying a large volume of water is critical to controlling a fire. Based on NFPA 13 ‘Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems’ and FM Data Sheet 2-0, this course provides an understanding of ESFR sprinklers. The presenter will discuss the benefits and challenges to consider with this type of fire protection, including the treatment of obstructions for storage applications. Learning Objectives: • Understand the purpose and capabilities of ESFR sprinklers • Learn how obstructions impact the effectiveness of ESFR sprinklers • Describe the obstruction requirements in NFPA 13 and FM 2-0 Ben Young, CET Ben has more than 20 years in the fire protection industry with a focus on fire sprinklers, alarms and special hazard systems. He has extensive experience in both new construction and retrofit projects for public and private sector customers. Ben holds multiple United States government security clearances and is NICET certified in Water-Based Systems Layout, Special Hazards, and Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
