Fire Sprinkler System Requirements for Storage - 8hr Course - Recorded Course Details 8 Training Hours Format: Instant Access Recorded Course CEUs: Based on 8 contact hours of training (see CEUs section for details) Course Description Storage is one of the most challenging fire protection scenarios. This course is based on NFPA 13 and reviews the key decision points to apply an approved design option for fire sprinkler use with storage applications. Utilizing an interactive teaching method, this seminar follows the path that an engineer, designer, or AHJ uses when evaluating storage protection. The foundational questions of “What is being stored?”, “How is it stored?”, and “How high is it stored?”, are reviewed in detail. Once these questions are answered, the various design approaches are considered to determine the best solution for the particular scenario. The seminar ends with a hands-on activity using the information shared in the course. Instructor Ralph E. Bless, Jr., P.E., CFPS, SET Ralph has 40 years’ experience in fire protection including a broad range of water based and special hazard system design, code consulting and fire protection engineering services. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in six states, a Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Level IV NICET senior fire sprinkler layout technician, Level III NICET inspections & Testing of Water Based Systems, and holds three additional NICET certifications, as well as multiple state and local licenses. Ralph serves on six NFPA committees including the NFPA 1 Fire Code, NFPA 15 covering Water Spray Systems, and the NFPA 13 Correlating Committee. He chairs the NFPA 13 Sprinkler System Installation Criteria Committee, the technical committee for NFPA 232 covering Record Storage and NFPA 915 covering Remote Inspections.
