CEUs: Based on 1 contact hour of training (see CEUs tab for details)

Course Description: This course focuses on the life cycle of a fire sprinkler installation project from due diligence and design to a successful construction phase. Often the focus is on the construction phase of the installation, however proper due diligence and design can expedite the construction process and result in less revisions and change orders. This includes learning jurisdictional requirements at the beginning of a project and having coordination with the designers and project team to discuss design elements such as the lead-in location, riser/pump room requirements, power location for controller, etc. Understanding the importance of each step and how to coordinate with the owner can help lead to a successful construction project that is completed on-time and within budget.

Learning Objectives:
• Learn how to conduct proper due diligence to support the design team and coordinate with the owner
• Describe the importance of coordination with the designers and project team to ensure alignment of the design and site conditions
• Understand jurisdictional requirements, applicable codes adopted and permitting requirements at the forefront of the project
• Explain bid coordination best practices on what to look for in bids received and how to reach a more accurate bid
