The protection of residential occupancies is unique with its distinct requirements for the use and location of sprinklers. Systems installed in accordance with NFPA 13D and 13R are strictly life safety in their purpose while those installed in dwelling units as allowed by NFPA 13 are a part of a larger protection scenario. This course examines the requirements for each document and the desired protection objectives.

Michael Willis has over 18 years of fire protection experience including portable, fixed and pre-engineered fire suppression as well as a fire protection and safety engineering degree. He is a Regional Practice Leader with Telgian Engineering & Consulting and has served in multiple capacities including as a technician, inspector, consultant, designer and installer.

Michael is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist, holds multiple state licenses, NICET Certifications for both fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems, and is in the process of completing his professional engineer licensure in fire protection engineering.
